True Happiness

Ten years old Sara giggled as she looked inside twin’s bedroom from the rooftop of her quarter. She was plant keepers daughter. Her dad took care of vast garden at MR. Khan’s bungalow. She had come over to spend vacations with her dad at quarters leaving behind her younger brother and mother back at village. Her father had been working their for past 3 months. Thinking about Eid making her sad. She wanted a new dress but she knew that her father not be able to afford. It was blessing for her that her father is paying fees of her. As evening drew close Sara wondered off to help Mrs.Khan in kitchen and then join rest of the family along with her dad for if-tar. Mr and Mrs.Khan had two daughters. Misha and Ki ran.

Evening in holy month of Ramadan held their own special charm. Trays of delicious things were served. Glasses filled and refilled again tinkling with varieties of colorful sodas. Coming back from school one day, kiran hurriedly flipped-through her favorite magazine. There was a competition  to write an essay or short story on true happiness. Mystified by the topic she started thinking about it day and night.

She looked outside her window and watched Sarah dancing among flower’s bed chasing butterflies. She watched her mother’s smile when she handed her a box of chocolates; she watched neighbor’s child as he happily flew his kite. There were so many things which made people happy but what was a secret behind true happiness seemed like a mystery to her. Ki ran intently listened her teacher’s lecture on true significance of true happiness. Her teacher said that true happiness comes from giving others what you choose for yourself. One should banish away greed, selfishness and jealousy in order to attain peaceful life. From that day she decided to give true happiness to the one who really deserves that. Back to her home she saw Sarah and suddenly her mind and heart decided to give her true happiness. On chaand raat the three girls went out and had same things. Sara was very happy because she got what she want for this event but not only her, her younger brother too got new dresses for Eid. Sara felt really happy to see true happiness on the faces of that poor family and now she had no problem to write about it!!!
